Ajaccio region

Our region has a remarkable cultural heritage and many historical and natural attractions.

The city has a privileged position on the north shore of the Gulf of Ajaccio, sheltered by the mountains behind. A short ride inland will take you from sea into spectacular mountain landscapes, the island has 8 mountain peaks that rise over 2500 m.

The extreme beauty of the Gulf of Ajaccio is inviting and perfect for strolling, water activities or just relaxing while enjoying the view or a good meal. A network of trails is accessible for hikers of all levels.

The Beaches and the Sanguinaire islands

There are more than 16 beaches, in and around Ajaccio, that constitute some of the jewels of its natural heritage.marinella

ACORSAD is at the beginning of the coastal road to the Sanguinaire Islands which stretches for 15 miles along beautiful white or golden sand beaches, and ends at the Parata from where you can admire a breathtaking view of the Genovese tower and the archipelago, a paradise for sea birds and dolphins.

It is in this mythical place that the famous Ajaccian singer, Tino Rossi, chose to live with his family, on his estate called le Scudo.
